Job Title: Commis Chef – Innovative QSR

Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Commis Chef to join our innovative QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) concept. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Western and Indian cuisine, exposure to pre-opening restaurant projects, and strong operational knowledge of modern kitchen equipment. This role requires discipline, consistency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in day-to-day kitchen operations ensuring speed, consistency, and food quality as per QSR standards
Prepare and execute dishes from Western and Indian cuisines according to standardized recipes
Support pre-opening activities including kitchen setup, menu trials, SOP development, and dry runs
Operate and maintain Rational equipment and other professional kitchen machinery (e.g., Promati or similar foodservice equipment)
Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
Assist in mise-en-place planning, portion control, and waste minimization
Maintain accurate kitchen documentation, including:
Recipe cards
SOPs
Batch sheets
Production logs
Cleaning & maintenance records
Coordinate with senior chefs during menu innovation, trials, and product standardization
Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and operational guidelines
Support training of new team members during pre-opening and post-opening phases
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in pre-opening restaurant or QSR projects
Proven hands-on experience in both Western and Indian cuisine
Strong working knowledge of Rational ovens and other modern kitchen equipment
Experience handling high-volume QSR production
Understanding of documentation and kitchen SOP systems
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Basic understanding of food costing and portion control is an added advantage
Preferred Candidate Profile
Experience in innovative or modern QSR concepts
Exposure to central kitchen or cloud kitchen operations
Passion for process-driven cooking and standardization
Willingness to adapt, learn, and grow with the brand
