Position Summary:
As a Cook in our Indian cloud kitchen, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in Indian cuisine and cooking techniques will contribute to the success of our cloud kitchen by delivering delicious and authentic Indian food to our customers.
Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking:
Prepare and cook a range of Indian dishes, following traditional recipes and techniques.
Ensure the quality, taste, and presentation of dishes meet the established standards.
Menu Execution:
Execute the menu items accurately and efficiently, adhering to portioning and plating guidelines.
Coordinate with the kitchen team to maintain smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
Ingredient Handling:
Handle and store ingredients properly to ensure freshness and safety.
Monitor ingredient levels and communicate inventory needs to supervisors.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handwashing, storage, and temperature control.
Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
Quality Control:
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure dishes meet the desired taste, texture, and appearance.
Make adjustments as necessary to maintain consistency and high standards.
Inventory Management:
Monitor ingredient usage and report any discrepancies to supervisors.
Assist in inventory counts and stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure availability.
Recipe Development and Standardization:
Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine recipes.
Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistent results.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
Operate kitchen equipment, such as stoves, ovens, and grills, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to supervisors.
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate and communicate effectively with other kitchen staff, including sous chefs, helpers, and dishwashers.
Assist and support team members as needed.
Cleanliness and Sanitation:
aintain cleanliness and hygiene in work areas, equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
Follow cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a cook specializing in Indian cuisine.
In-depth knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and flavors.
Ability to prepare a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, biryanis, tandoori items, and snacks.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent knowledge of ingredient quality and ability to ensure consistency.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per the kitchen's operational needs.
