About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced All-Rounder South Indian Chef to lead our kitchen and deliver an authentic and diverse South Indian dining experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience and a deep understanding of South Indian culinary traditions, from tiffin items and main courses to rice varieties and chutneys.
You will be responsible for upholding our standards of quality, flavor, and presentation, as well as managing kitchen operations efficiently. This is an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated chef to showcase their expertise and creativity.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic and delicious South Indian dishes, including but not limited to:
Tiffin items: Various types of Idli, Dosa (including specialty versions), Vada, Uthappam, and Appam.
Curries & Accompaniments: Traditional Sambar, a variety of Chutneys, and rich vegetarian gravies.
Rice Dishes: Flavorful variety rice dishes such as Rasam Rice, Lemon Rice, Veg Pulao, and regional Biryanis.
Ensure the consistency of all dishes in terms of taste, quality, and presentation, adhering to established recipes and standards.
Manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and storage.
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff on South Indian cooking techniques and food safety standards.
Maintain strict hygiene and sanitation standards in the kitchen area at all times.
Control inventory, manage food costs, and place orders for fresh ingredients and supplies.
Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating traditional flavors with creative elements.
Ensure all food items are received, checked, and stored correctly to maintain freshness and safety.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, especially during peak hours.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an All-Rounder South Indian Chef with a minimum of 5 years in a professional kitchen environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of South Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, spices, and cooking methods.
Expertise in preparing the specific dishes mentioned above with exceptional skill and authenticity.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
A passion for delivering a high-quality, authentic dining experience.
Relevant culinary certifications or a degree is a plus.
